Bark!
I have had a couple of images published in The Bark Magazine's Sept./Oct. '08 edition.
Needless to say, I'm really happy that they picked the images up.
The full page image is of "Dog" (his real name) a friend of ours Rick, had commissioned this session a while back in May of this year. The second image is of our Greyhound, Nomy. Her's was the second dog portrait the we had ever done and my wife and I thought that we were truly on to something at that point.
I had read an article about The Bark's creative director in How magazine. I liked his point of view in the article and I liked the look of The Bark and the other artists that they were using. So with only 4 dog images, I sent him an email with a web site invite and he picked up one image and came back for the second about 3 weeks later.

I often think about what it means to be a successful artist. To me, it means to create work that truly touches people in a personal way.
I have been sporadically working my own projects for a few years now and have finally come to realize a personal style to what I do. With that style, others around me, friends & family initially, thought that I was truly on to something...
So I really worked at it for a year and I'm slowly becoming known. I got an artist's rep at the beginning of '08 and I've been offered a gallery show in April of '09.
On the personal side, there have been some recent life event's that have taken place. A good part of my journey is to create for others and to have them benefit from what I do for them. What started out as a personal project now has become something bigger than myself. Stay tuned...
