He was interested in showing my work and wanted to know about my process. I was intrigued that a gallery that has shown painting and sculpture almost exclusively wanted to include my portraits.
Being the show's only photographer, I was an outlier, but I felt very much in good company. The viewers were very interested in my process, but the subjects were the stars, regardless of the medium.
I have such a deep respect for painting and all of the time and craftsmanship that goes into it. It's an honor to have photography shown among paintings and have the collective beauty and style be the main focus.
